3 Points to Ponder
- “When we rewire ourselves to see the good in situations, our impact multiplies. Ever met someone going through an incredibly hard situation, yet they demonstrated gratitude? Living life like that becomes sticky to those around you. Have you consciously rewired your attitude towards finding blessings?”
- “When you are completely blue, take an inventory of your blessings. Writing them down shifts something inside of us and we can make a bit more sense of what is going on around us. When is the last time you’ve taken a blessings inventory?”
- “Grateful people are like magnets. They draw people into a world of awe. Is your attitude drawing people closer or repelling them away right now?”

1 Story of Impact
When John O’Leary was nine years old, his life changed forever, as he was in a horrific fire explosion in his house, leaving him 99.9% burned over his entire body. Given less than a 1% chance to live, he overcame the odds and survived. He lost his fingers, burned off his ear, and scarred the majority of his body. Through people speaking into him, loving and motivating him, he started to live life again. He learned to write, walk, and gain basic movement despite the pain and scars challenging him every day. He married and had children. And now, he leads an amazing podcast called Live Inspired, has authored two national best-sellers, and is a motivational speaker for thousands around the world. A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity for him to share his story at our Many Hands Business Breakfast (see our thank you video here) and he knocked it out of the park. In private conversations, what struck me most was his incredibly gracious spirit. He was grateful for all his life experiences, including that terrible explosion when he was nine. So much so, when asked if knowing all he knew now, would he choose the same path, his answer was yes because it brought him all the joys he has experienced in life. What a statement! When looking at your life, can you look at all the good and bad experiences and be grateful for them? Is it possible to get there if you rewire your thinking, looking at life through a lens of gratitude? How much impact could you make living a life of gratitude?
