3  Points to Ponder

  1. “Our names have meanings, as they are our first identity. They work in the background pointing us to a greater truth. Do you know the meaning of your name?”
  2. “Names carry great weight, as God thought it was important enough to send angels to Earth to share names with expectant mothers and fathers. Are you living into your truth given to you via your name?”
  3. “Words spoken over us shape our identity. And from our identity, habits are formed, first through our thoughts and then revealed through our actions. Is your identity aligned with your dreams?”

1 Story of Impact

How many of you have ever looked into the meaning of your name? Do you know that even your very name points to your greater purpose? When my parents gave birth to me 42 years ago, they blessed me with the name Timothy Jason Brand. Timothy means “Honored by God”, fitting since I was born just after noon on a Sunday. Digging deeper into my name meaning, it says I am highly perceptive and intuitive, with a wonderful imagination and the ability to manifest dreams into reality. I am also able to create joy, security, and harmony for myself and the lives of others. I am often the center of influence and much happiness is gained through my willingness to serve good causes. Jason means “Healer”. Going further, I’m very intelligent, broadminded, and a good listener. I am an ideas person, with a wonderfully creative imagination always seeking practical applications. I have great potential for business success if I can apply some discipline and caution. My restless nature and liking for an adventurous life mean it is rarely dull with me around. “Brand” means a sword coming out of the fire. Created to show strength, I am designed to fight and protect, leaving a mark on the world around me. Put my name altogether and my full name means, “Honored by God to bring healing through strength to fight and protect worthy causes.” For anyone that knows me well, this hits so close to the mark it is scary. Do you know you were made on purpose for a purpose? Your very name points towards your greater destiny. Spend some time digging into the meaning of your name, as it will reveal breadcrumbs to your purpose.

As the Founder and CEO of Many Hands, Tim Brand leads a global movement dedicated to the belief that transformation happens when people choose to be Love in Action in a broken world. Over the last decade, he has transitioned Many Hands from a grassroots start-up into a high-impact international non-profit with a $9.0 million annual operating budget. Operating across Haiti and The Bahamas, his strategy moves beyond traditional relief. Tim focuses on building the relational and physical infrastructure required for communities to shift from dependency to dignity. Today, these programs touch over 25,000 lives annually. Tim centers his daily work on professionalizing this passion by ensuring radical financial integrity, developing resilient five-year strategic plans, and fostering the exact partnerships necessary to solve complex problems in volatile environments. Under his guidance in 2026, the organization is actively pursuing the audacious goal of delivering over 5 million meals to communities facing catastrophic hunger. Known as a giver and a doer, Tim believes that God uses imperfect people and strategic discipline to bring shalom to chaos. Whether he is leading an Impact trip on the ground, overseeing a multi-million dollar construction project, or developing the Board of Directors, his ultimate mission remains unchanged: to restore what is broken and prove that no place and no person is a lost cause.
