Catch up with the Celebrate Church IMPACT team as Chelsea and Jonah share about their second day in Abaco, detailing the “productive and effective” progress made at a couple of homes, from painting and debris removal to laying concrete and tile, and the inspiring impact they’re seeing in the community!

Day 2 phrase: “productive and effective.” Today part of our team hit the ground running at the Smith house. We knew going in that there was a lot of painting to be done. Finishing up the second and third coats in the main room and laundry, while starting paint in the bedrooms and bathroom. We are getting so close to having all the interior painted and done. The exterior looks stunning! It has been so transformative to watch the changes happen. From the new beautiful green exterior paint to the removal of debris and non-running vehicles. Throughout the day we witnessed several community friends and family stopping by, and continually saying “thank you,” to all of us and just being in awe of the work that we have been able to provide for the Smith family.

We are excited for the changes not only for this home but the impact that it will make to those who visit.

Other members of the team spent their day in a different neighborhood at Tamara’s house. Some of the team were laying self-leveling concrete on the floor of the house so there is a level surface for laying tile during an upcoming day of the trip. A few others were laying tile in a neighboring house that we will be able to finish before the end of the week. We have been inspired by the hope and joy that community members have shown as we offer them our assistance and we all look forward to what is to come with the rest of our IMPACT trip.
