3  Points to Ponder

  1. Getting a room full of people together, joyfully serving, breathes hope into my soul. The lasting kind of hope. Think of the last time you joyfully served with a group of people. Do you need to do it again to bring a bit of hope into your life?
  2. God gave us two hands for a reason. One to help ourselves and one to help others. Who is someone in your life that needs your help this week?
  3. Together we are stronger. Together our joy compounds. Together we can move mountains. Together we change our world. What do you need to do this week to create more together in your world?

“I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.” -Albert Schweitzer

1 Story of Impact

Last week, our U.S. team shut down our thrift stores for a morning of Impact to go and serve in our local feeding organizations, packing meals and serving in feeding centers. Given our geographic locations, it is rare when we can all get together and serve at the same time. It was so fun to see all the smiling faces, listen to people sing to music, and watch the interactions among staff and volunteers from the various locations. There was so much joy in the room as we all served in something greater together. In Haiti, our Haitian staff have also been serving together as part of the Stretch Out Your Hand campaign. It has been amazing to see the transformation in the staff as they visit their neighbors’ homes to serve. They’ve all said how impactful it has been to serve together, especially to help people who they otherwise wouldn’t have much contact with if not for the program. The power of shared experience around something greater than ourselves truly breathes hope into people. When was the last time you served with a group of like-minded people for something greater than yourself? If you are feeling a bit hopeless today, I challenge you to go and serve with people who inspire and lift you up. It is tough to hold onto hurt when your hands are busy helping. And the lift is greater than the sum of its parts, reorienting your vision to something better. We truly are better together.

As the Founder and CEO of Many Hands, Tim Brand leads a global movement dedicated to the belief that transformation happens when people choose to be Love in Action in a broken world. Over the last decade, he has transitioned Many Hands from a grassroots start-up into a high-impact international non-profit with a $9.0 million annual operating budget. Operating across Haiti and The Bahamas, his strategy moves beyond traditional relief. Tim focuses on building the relational and physical infrastructure required for communities to shift from dependency to dignity. Today, these programs touch over 25,000 lives annually. Tim centers his daily work on professionalizing this passion by ensuring radical financial integrity, developing resilient five-year strategic plans, and fostering the exact partnerships necessary to solve complex problems in volatile environments. Under his guidance in 2026, the organization is actively pursuing the audacious goal of delivering over 5 million meals to communities facing catastrophic hunger. Known as a giver and a doer, Tim believes that God uses imperfect people and strategic discipline to bring shalom to chaos. Whether he is leading an Impact trip on the ground, overseeing a multi-million dollar construction project, or developing the Board of Directors, his ultimate mission remains unchanged: to restore what is broken and prove that no place and no person is a lost cause.
