The Kairos team in Abaco spent their Sunday like a local, attending church at Kirk of the Pines and having a little healthy competition at a sand volleyball tournament.

The group started the day by waking up and preparing a breakfast of pancakes and eggs for the team. Then we all packed up and piled into the vans to head to service at Kirk of the Pines. We had the opportunity to meet several Bahamians and worship, connect, and learn about the Lord with some amazing people.
After the service, we headed to “Colors”, a Bahamian cafe, to fill up before a long day of connecting and building relationships. We discovered conch is a tasty Bahamian tradition! Lunch allowed us to talk with one another, learn more about one another, and share our love of Christ.
Once we filled up for the day, we headed back to camp to get some free time. We spent time together in the ocean and on the beach, and some of us even swam to a big rock and found some colorful “Dory” fish.
Later in the afternoon, we piled in the vans again and headed to Kelly Farm, where we were greeted by many Bahamians and joined them in a sand volleyball tournament. We built not only our own relationships, but new relationships with the locals. The night was full of laughter, love, competitiveness, and the Holy Spirit. Most of the group followed along on a hunt for Guava and found eight of them! The consensus on the taste of the Guava remained split, but it was still a great bonding opportunity. We ate dinner together and got to taste Bahamian Mahi Mahi, which was a team favorite!
We headed back to camp and had conversations all the way back despite the fact we were all exhausted from the spiritually, emotionally, and physically amazing but tiring day.
We are starting to realize how the power of God can move through a group of 22 people who mostly knew nothing about one another just 60 hours ago. We are feeling blessed and loved in the Abaco community and cannot help but wonder what else He has in store for this amazing group.
