Maddie, Caitlyn, and Lilly
A long journey to the island instantly turned into an active mission of partnership as the Immanuel CRC Youth team began caulking, painting, and building alongside local friends. Read the first team update from Maddie, Caitlyn, and Lilly to see how quickly a rainy workday can turn into a beautiful reminder of community!
We started our adventures by getting up and leaving at 11 pm. After the long 3-hour drive, we arrived at the airport and got through TSA, where Cliff got a pat down. After the long day of travel, we arrived in Abaco with little to no sleep.
The first thing we did was get a grand tour of the island, where we saw many colorful houses. After a fast supper and devotional we went paddle boarding and headed to bed.
Day two we spent the day helping rebuild homes. We ate breakfast and headed to Tracy’s home where some of us caulked and painted floor boards and mudded and taped the walls. After lunch we met AT, a nice guy, and most of us worked on a house where we painted and built a deck in the rain. It was an unexpected blessing! We headed home, ate supper, swam, and went to bed!
