Daniella’s roots trace back to Haiti, where her mother faced adversity from a young age. Orphaned at eight, Daniella’s mother had no formal education and couldn’t read. Daniella herself was deported to Haiti in 1994, returning to the Bahamas in 1998 at the age of seven. Despite the challenges, Daniella was determined to catch up in school and become an educator, aiming to make up for her mother’s lost opportunities.
Upon returning to the Bahamas, Daniella lived on a citrus farm near the airport with her godmother since her mother worked long hours. The farm, filled with lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine trees, provided a picturesque childhood. Despite being away from her mother, Daniella thrived under the care of her godmother, who taught her essential life skills.
Daniella faced language barriers upon returning to the Bahamas, but with the help of a dedicated teacher, she quickly learned English. Obtaining citizenship became a significant milestone, and Daniella highlights the challenges faced by those born in the Bahamas to non-Bahamian parents. Like having a travel document until you are 18 and can apply for Bahamian Citizenship, which can be a very long process. For Daniella, it took 4 years to finally receive her citizenship.

Daniella’s life took a turn when she became a nanny for Latasha Walker, who played a crucial role in connecting her with Ryan Forbes. Despite initial reluctance, Daniella and Ryan’s relationship blossomed, leading to marriage and three children. Ryan supported Daniella’s educational pursuits and encouraged her dreams.
Coming from a broken family, Daniella aimed to provide a stable, loving environment for her children. Her faith, coupled with her husband’s support, allowed her to break the cycle of her past. Daniella expresses the importance of a sense of home and dreams of owning a house for her family.
