3...2...1 Impact

The Power of the Pour

Hey Everyone,

You know, there’s a difference between catching up with someone and truly connecting with them. We all have this deep-seated desire, designed within us, to be both discipled and to pour into others. We long for that one-to-one connection that cuts through the surface noise and gets to something deeper. That pursuit of a genuine, mutual relationship is what strengthens our daily walk and fuels our IMPACT. That’s the powerful truth I want to share with you today from a story that started over a cup of coffee. This story beautifully embodies our 3…2…1 Impact framework: three points to ponder, two quotes to share, and one story of profound impact.

1 Story of Impact

I was sitting at a booth in Smokey Row with Alex, and he started to share his story. This wasn’t a surface conversation; Alex wore his emotions on his sleeve. His eyes lit up when he talked about triumphs, but his shoulders would drop and his brow would furrow when he shared the challenging moments. The pain was evident as he recounted some deeply wounding words from the past—he’s still working through those hurts. This kind of vulnerability is truly immersive—it draws you in completely.

After listening intently and asking lots of questions, I had the privilege of speaking truth to him, both from God’s word and from observations I had made about his incredible spirit. I told him he is a warrior for the Kingdom, and this world doesn’t need him to play small. This moment of clarity was deeply personal. I then took the action of connecting him with a few others who display his same spirit, knowing he needs some like-minded people in his life to run alongside.

About an hour after we left the coffee shop, Alex shot me a text: “It was a very life-giving meeting. Eager to see what the Lord has in store!” Just like that, the Kingdom of God moves forward, fueled by mutual connection and the discovery of one’s unique mission.

3  Points to Ponder

The conversation with Alex highlights the dual nature of living a life of Impact. Consider these three points:

  1. You are a warrior for the Kingdom, and this world doesn’t need you to play small. What old wounds or limiting beliefs are holding you back? It’s time to claim your story for transformation and step into the fullness of who you were created to be.
  2. When I pour out, I get poured back into. This mutual give-and-receive is how the Kingdom grows. What opportunity to breathe life into someone else are you saying “no” to right now? Say “yes” to those action opportunities this week.
  3. We all need iron to sharpen our iron. Who are you intentionally connecting with this week—not just for networking, but for a deep, honest personal relationship that fuels your spiritual life and propels your mission forward?

2 Quotes to Share

These timeless words perfectly capture the power of mutual discipleship and courageous living:

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” – Proverbs 27:17

“The final test of a leader is that he leaves behind him in other people the conviction and the will to carry on.” – Walter Lippmann

The success of our individual journeys is often found in shared vulnerability and intentional connection. The greatest impact we can have is found in empowering others to realize their own God-given power and purpose.

What is the one courageous step you will take today to both pour out and be poured into?

Feel free to reply and share—I read every response.

Live with impact,

Tim
