We often talk about the power of prayer, but what happens when you pray for 40 straight days, and the breakthrough you were hoping for isn’t immediately evident? Our beliefs are truly tested in that period of waiting—that pause we call selah. That’s the powerful truth I want to share with you today about how God uses our obedience and our established partnerships to prepare a miracle. This story beautifully embodies our 3…2…1 Impact framework: three points to ponder, two quotes to share, and one story of profound impact.
1 Story of Impact
Our story begins in late July 2025. Across all countries, Many Hands operations committed to 40 Days of Prayer leading up to our annual Impact Summit. Our team in Haiti translated the prayers into Creole, and every morning, the staff spent 30 minutes in teaching and prayer, rooted in the Psalms—the ancient songbook of God’s people crying out for deliverance. The people of Haiti desperately needed this, as the last seven years have been nothing short of hell on Earth.
The Summit came and went. It was good, fruitful, but the breakthrough we prayed for wasn’t evident… yet.
About two weeks later, the challenge intensified. I was in a serious conversation with the Outreach Pastor of the church that hosted the Summit, Lutheran Church of Hope (Hope). In boldness, I told him, with a sincere heart, that now was when we needed to do something for Haiti, more than ever.
His immediate, sincere response was: “Tim, what can we do to help right now?”
I shared an audacious goal— to deliver over 10 containers of food to desperate people on the brink of dying from starvation. As we talked, the dots began connecting, and it was evident God had gone before us, weaving our history into His immediate plan:
- In 2006, Hope launched the project that became the nonprofit Meals from the Heartland.
- We have partnered with Meals from the Heartland since 2012.
- We both partnered with Convoy of Hope, the world-class logistics partner that could get the containers into Haiti.
- Most critically, our team had spent the last nine months surveying, administering, and praying with internally displaced people (IDPs), identifying the most vulnerable communities and people groups in and around the region of Pignon.
God had prepared the way. The breakthrough wasn’t about finding a new solution; it was about leveraging the relationships we already had. Right now, resources are being raised to deliver 2.5 million meals in 2026 to the most vulnerable and needy people on our planet—right in our backyard, a near two-hour plane ride from Florida.
It began with prayer, it moved to generosity, and it ends with Love in Action. And the Kingdom of God moves from Heaven to Earth.

This story of convergence—of prayer meeting provision—is a profound roadmap for living your daily Impact. Ponder these three points:
- Audacity is the language of faith. My desperate action wasn’t asking for a budget continuation; it was asking for 10 containers. Don’t let a crisis shrink your vision; let it clarify your audacious goal. What is the audacious thing God is asking you to believe Him for today?
- Trust the network God built. The solution wasn’t a new relationship; it was the existing personal partnerships that God had been building for years. What established relationship are you underutilizing that God built long ago for your current breakthrough?
- The breakthrough is never passive. The 40 Days of Prayer was the challenge that prepared the ground. The phone call was the desperate moment. Transformation requires sustained prayer, but it also demands bold action when God opens the door. What do you need to stop waiting for and start acting on this week?
