3 Points to Ponder
- Every day, we make choices that speak to who we are becoming. If you want to transform, it is making small choices of transformation over a long period. If an outsider looked back at your last week, who would they say you are becoming based on your choices?
- Perseverance is an under-ranked value. When listing virtuous values, rarely does it get mentioned. Yet, perseverance might be the most important in a transformation story. How has your perseverance been lately?
- Everyone loves the game-winning shot, but few see the thousands of misses in an empty gym perfecting the craft. Don’t lose hope if you are putting the effort and time into something great, as you never know when a breakthrough is just in front of you. Where is one area in your life you need to stay the course, even when the results you had hoped for haven’t become reality yet?

“We want solutions, but what we really need are attitudes. You don’t need abs, but rather an attitude of training. You don’t need the answer, but rather an attitude of curiosity. You don’t need an easier life, but rather an attitude of perseverance. Attitude precedes outcome.” – James Clear
“Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” -Walter Elliot
1 Story of Impact
Today marks the 100th edition of the 3…2…1 Impact Newsletter, a milestone that caused me to pause and take a look back. I’ve been writing these now for just over two years. It started as a desire to share insights with Many Hands staff for encouragement and growth, as we are geographically diverse, and has since mushroomed. Over this past year, the number of sign-ups has grown by 352% and the number of individual opens by 278%. We don’t pay for any advertisement or any services to add email lists. It is all organic, driven by people like you sending these emails to friends or colleagues or telling people they should sign up. And I am incredibly grateful. And if I’m transparent, there are many days I don’t feel like writing this. Or I have the thought, is anyone reading this? But, I am on an impact journey and every time I say yes to writing this newsletter, I am saying yes to the future-self person I want to become. There isn’t a magic secret or shortcut. Just choice after choice, guided by a vision of what is possible. Today, I want you to pause and reflect on your journey. Where have you been? What is there to celebrate and what is there to learn? Where are you going? What is the future-self you want to become? What choices are you making today, based upon truth, to guide you to be the person of impact you want to become? Lastly, are you happy with your journey? If yes, be encouraged and stay the course. If not, don’t spend energy beating yourself up. Rather, invest all that energy into making the next right choice. Know what is the most important choice on the journey? The next one. It is that simple. I was encouraged today by looking back and grateful for each of you. We truly are better together.
