Church service, ocean views, and end-of-trip reflections ️ The Des Moines Christian School IMPACT team spent their last full day reflecting on their week in Abaco. Read about their experience in the team’s latest blog update, written by Annie, Andrew, Shawn, and Faith.

On Sunday morning, we had a breakfast of egg bake, then loaded up the vans to attend Kirk of the Pines, a local church, which has been a consistent landing place for us throughout the week as we have used their building for various purposes. The pastor preached on Isaiah 1:1 and laid out both the historical context of the passage but also presented it through the lens of the Gospel. This was a fitting message for our final full day in Abaco as we were able to see the parallels of unrest in the world, both thousands of years ago, as well as today, but also live with the hope of God’s promises being fulfilled.

Following the church service, we had lunch at Colors, a local eatery on the ocean where cheeseburgers, quesadillas, wraps, and more were enjoyed by all.

We had our first afternoon of substantial rain since we’ve been here. This lent time for our team to work on their mission trip reflections while sitting on the porches watching the rain hit the ocean waves, playing games indoors, and napping for some.

We concluded our evening by sharing impactful moments from our week here, singing and fellowship around the fire, and our final night of S’mores as the Impact Mission Team.
