3 Points to Ponder
- The secret to lasting change is small shifts that stick. Think of a snowball rolling down a hill, starting small, but picking up more snow as it goes. Soon, it is powerful! Where is a small shift in your life you need to start today?
- We love to hear the breakthrough story as from the outside, it seems it happened out of nowhere. But in the majority of cases, momentum has been building for a long time before the breakthrough moment. Who in your life needs encouragement today to stick to the hard work they are putting in, as you see their momentum building?
- It is never too late to start. Miss a deadline? Don’t miss the next one. Miss a workout? Don’t miss the next one. Instead of wasting energy on the negative, put that energy into starting today. Where do you need to let go of the past and put that energy into starting?

1 Story of Impact
Like millions of other people in the world, I attended an Ash Wednesday service last week, marking the beginning of Lent and remembering I was created out of the dust, and to dust, I shall return. Lent typically ushers in a time of intentional prayer, daily devotion, and a sacrifice to not partake of until Easter. In years past, I’ve made some grand sacrifice or statement about what I would give up during these six weeks, knowing full well it wasn’t sustainable to continue that practice after the season ended. My teaching pastor challenged us to think differently about our Lenten practice this year. What if we were to usher in a small, more subtle change to make us more Christlike, one we could continue with after Easter day? What if every year, we intentionally used the Lenten season to add to our discipleship in small ways, building upon years of small changes to become more Christlike? I loved this thought, as being people of impact, this is what I’ve taught time and time again for true life transformation! Small changes over a long period of time create massive shifts with the potential for generational change. If you missed Ash Wednesday, start today. What is a small change you can commit to between now and Easter, with the hope to become a daily habit beyond Easter? One thing I can promise – you will never regret becoming more Christlike, so start the journey today.
