3  Points to Ponder

  1. “Inspiration doesn’t come from thin air. It comes from your story, experiences, and inner voice. These all mix together and for a moment, clarity is known. Inspiration never happens in a vacuum.”
  2. “All of us have triggers for inspiration. For me, it is putting headphones on, listening to music, and drowning out the world. For others, it is nature. Or bike rides or running. The critical piece is knowing your triggers. Have you identified your inspiration triggers?”
  3. “A saying I love is ‘change of latitude, change of attitude.’ Different experiences are needed to clearly see our normal reality. Reading books, conversations with contrasting people, and different cultures can bring growth. When is the last time you challenged yourself to seek the contrary to your normal?”

1 Story of Impact

Inspiration day was Thursday, August 11, 2005. I was sitting in Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois, attending the Global Leadership Summit. Having been inspired by the teachings of the day, I wrote the core principles of what would later be a white paper, which would eventually turn into the founding pillar for the birth of Many Hands. There was a firestorm activity in my soul about how the work between the U.S. and Haiti was so hurtful for both sides and there was a better way. God desired life-change in people, whether they be Haitian families needing a new story or an American who needed a burning bush experience to awaken their soul. This was my gift to the world to steward, to be a dream-giver to those who couldn’t see the way to their God-given destiny. Little did I know the earthquakes in my life I would experience to make this possible, crumbling my foundation to rebuild back stronger, until it was solid enough to build upon for the future ministry. We all have an inspiration day if we truly seek God’s desires based upon the story He has given us. Are you seeking an inspiration day in your life? Have you already had one and let it die? Does your inspiration need fuel? Or is it burning bright? Inspirations are a sacred gift to you, as there will only be a few in a lifetime. If it comes from God, seek it with all your heart. At the end of your life, you won’t be sorry.

As the Founder and CEO of Many Hands, Tim Brand leads a global movement dedicated to the belief that transformation happens when people choose to be Love in Action in a broken world. Over the last decade, he has transitioned Many Hands from a grassroots start-up into a high-impact international non-profit with a $9.0 million annual operating budget. Operating across Haiti and The Bahamas, his strategy moves beyond traditional relief. Tim focuses on building the relational and physical infrastructure required for communities to shift from dependency to dignity. Today, these programs touch over 25,000 lives annually. Tim centers his daily work on professionalizing this passion by ensuring radical financial integrity, developing resilient five-year strategic plans, and fostering the exact partnerships necessary to solve complex problems in volatile environments. Under his guidance in 2026, the organization is actively pursuing the audacious goal of delivering over 5 million meals to communities facing catastrophic hunger. Known as a giver and a doer, Tim believes that God uses imperfect people and strategic discipline to bring shalom to chaos. Whether he is leading an Impact trip on the ground, overseeing a multi-million dollar construction project, or developing the Board of Directors, his ultimate mission remains unchanged: to restore what is broken and prove that no place and no person is a lost cause.
