1 Story of Impact
In 2019, I had the chance to spend the afternoon and evening with Jon Gordon, author of 24 books and 10 best sellers. He is a fantastic guy and I was able to pick his brain one-on-one for a bit. His start-up story struck me, as he wrote The Energy Bus and then was rejected by 30 publishers. It took five years after he first published it to become a bestseller. He actually organized his own small tour and went city to city, selling books to crowds of 5 or less people. But, he worked his craft and was committed to the obsession that the world needed a positive approach. He wanted to encourage and inspire as many people as possible, one person at a time, and he knew even if one person showed up, it was worth it. He put in the time, he stayed true to who he was, and he didn’t run for the closest exit when things got tough. And eventually, he inspired millions of people, including me.
