Hey Everyone,
In the natural rhythm of life, now is typically a time when we pause to think about the past 12 months. With the blistering pace of our world, this pause is becoming increasingly vital to ground ourselves on our desired path, rather than the cultural one.
Without even knowing it, hours go by wasted—scrolling through Instagram, binging on a Netflix series, or lost in mindless video games on our phones. To counter that drift, I’m inviting you to do a “soul audit” today.
1 Story of Impact
As I sat down to reflect on Many Hands’ journey this year, I realized that impact doesn’t happen by accident. It happens through intentionality. As I penned my 2025 End of Year Letter to our staff, volunteers, and donors, I had to ask myself the same hard questions I’m asking you today:
1. Am I a better version of myself than I was 12 months ago?
2. Is my current life trajectory moving in the direction I actually want to go?
3. Are my current relationships helping or hurting me as I strive to become the best version of myself?
Answering these honestly is the only way to ensure we aren’t just busy, but truly effective. At Many Hands, 2025 was defined by the word Trust. It was our daily manna and our shield as we navigated the IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) crisis in Haiti and the ongoing home rebuilds in Abaco. Now, as we look toward 2026, we are shifting from the internal work of trusting to the action mandate of Build.
We cannot build something new on a foundation that hasn’t been audited. Take some time with those three questions today. Answer them honestly about yourself, your family, and your organization. And remember: make small adjustments where needed. Wholesale changes rarely last, but small, intentional pivots in our daily walk are what lead to a lifetime of love in action.
3 Points to Ponder
- Beware the “Cultural Drift”: If you don’t choose your path, culture will choose it for you. Mindless consumption is the enemy of a life of impact. Grounding requires effort.
- The Power of Small Adjustments: Don’t be overwhelmed by the need for change. In navigation, a one-degree shift doesn’t look like much at first, but it changes your destination entirely over time.
- Relationships are Trajectory: You are the average of the people you spend the most time with. If you want to move toward transformation, ensure your inner circle is pulling you toward growth, not anchoring you in the past.
