Doug, Julie, and Ian, members of the Third Church (Pella, IA) IMPACT team, share about their final day of service in Abaco and the IMPACT stories that were created from their week.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

Our last day here on the island! We broke up into four work groups. Two groups went to Murphy Town to continue work on the homes. The ladies continued their school help for the students learning the alphabet and spelling their names. The last team stayed back at the camp to do some inside work on the Gathering Hall, cut down some trees and brush, and work on the driveway using the new skid loader that arrived earlier this week. The road in and out of camp is far worse than any gravel road in the state of Iowa and has made us grateful for roads we have previously complained about!

Our final activity of the day was each person sharing their impact story. The impact story included how each person came to join the group, any impactful moments of the week, and what their commitment is to making a change in their life as a result of their week’s journey.
