3 Points to Ponder
- “Brokenness is life. It is part of being alive. Do you tend to leave unresolved brokenness lingering, or do you dig in deeper to find some resolution?”
- “Many times, the story we tell ourselves about the challenge is the real problem. We are like self-fulling prophecies, speaking our brokenness into existence. What is the story you tell yourself about your challenges?”
- “Walking through challenges is hard. Nothing about it is easy. Yet, there is freedom on the other side for those willing to do the hard work. What scares you the most about walking through your challenges? If you peel back the layers, what is the real answer?”

“Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” – Michael Jordan
1 Story of Impact
This week, we were disappointed. In January 2022, we opened a new Love in Action Center in the remote community of Jean Buele. Everything has exceeded expectations except one thing — having a solid water supply. At first, we believed we could use an existing well in the community. Turns out, that well is pretty much dry. We then thought the answer would be to drill a new hole, as we needed a new water source. After going 225 feet, we struck out. No water to be found. Where do we go from here? After more discussion, we learned the existing well only goes 80 feet and if we go deeper into that existing well, all believe we will find more water. Then, we will figure out how to pump it to our land and campus to be used for drinking, cooking, and irrigating gardens. In my life, if a problem arises, I’m quick to jump to something new. This isn’t working? Oh, let’s leave this problem and fix it another way. Many times when our challenges come, we need to dig deeper (literally in this case!) into the problem. The answer can be found by walking through the problem. What challenge in your life is requiring you to go deeper? Where are you jumping to something new, when deep down, walking through the hard stuff would be better?
