God’s faithfulness was on full display Sunday as two IMPACT teams witnessed answered prayers, welcomed a record-breaking group, and immersed themselves in the Abaco community. Hear reflections from Deb and Cindy, members of the Haven Church group.
We have seen God’s faithfulness in His answered prayer all day long. It began with the church service at Kirk of the Pines where we learned about God’s faithfulness to forgive us when we confess our sins through the story of the Prodigal Son. One of the friends of Many Hands that the teams have been helping over the last year has been repeatedly invited to church along with his 10 year old son. Today was the day that God answered that prayer! He entered church and left it with a big smile on his face! We will be working on his house this week and hope to see the Lord provide an electrician on Tuesday to inspect the wiring in his house.
Two members of our team (and lots of luggage) did not make the airplane on Saturday morning due to staffing issues at the airport, so we thankfully rejoiced when they arrived this afternoon in time for food distributions. We also welcomed the group from Pella, making this the largest IMPACT team ever! God is working!
Today we immersed ourselves in the community and culture by visiting new friends and hearing their stories. We were struck by the joy and the smiles we saw on the faces of those with the most heartbreaking stories. They impacted us in the ways that they glorified God and spoke of His faithfulness through their trials.
Our word for the day was immersion. We are learning to be where our feet are- and today they are in Abaco!!
