3 Points to Ponder
- People value something that is real. How can you maintain a personal touch in an increasingly digital world?
- Kind words can be short and sweet, but their echos are endless. Is the culture you are creating around you, whether it be in your family, organization, or community, moving towards or away from genuine connection and appreciation?
- People keep handwritten notes. When was the last time you sent an authentic, handwritten note to someone?

1 Story of Impact
A worn blue piece of folded paper sits on my desk, a cherished memento from my then fifth-grade daughter (who now is in 11th grade). It reads, “Dear Daddy, Thank you for coming to my class to talk about MH4H. My class and I loved it. Thank you for sharing about your work. I love what you do. Your favorite child, Abbie Brand.” When I launched into full-time ministry, leaving the corporate business world with the stability and salary, I had my kids in mind. I wanted them to witness their dad giving himself to something greater. This letter reminds me of my why and when things get hard, I read it again. Looking at my desk, 18 handwritten notes are visible, posted from various people from all over the country. And there are more in the drawer. In an age where AI is creeping into all streams of life, authenticity still wins the day. People treasure what’s real, and that currency will grow as more becomes automated. To be People for Impact, pick up a pen and paper and scribble a note to the people you love. Do this each week and watch your impact multiply. It is easy to discard a generic note with little personality. That isn’t the case for the handwritten note from the heart, as it makes a lasting impact.
