One of the best time investments you can make

3  Points to Ponder

  1. “We all know people who bring life and who take life from a relationship. Long-term, impactful relationships come from people who bring life. If you were to survey 10 random friends or colleagues, who would they say you are?”
  2. “Great friendships can be identified when both sides believe they benefit most from the relationship. Both have given so much to one another, they mutually believe the other gave more. Are you investing in your best relationships so much that the other would believe they benefit more?”
  3. “A great life can be traced back to great relationships. Notice I didn’t say a successful life. We all know successful people, whose life we’d never want, because we see all the brokenness around them. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your relationships?”

“True friends are those rare people who come to find you in dark places and lead you back to the light.” — Anonymous

“That’s how it goes, kids. The friends, neighbors, drinking buddies, and partners in crime you love so much when you’re young, as the years go by, you just lose touch. You will be shocked when you discover how easy it is in life to part ways with people forever. That’s why, when you find someone you want to keep around, you do something about it.” – Ted Mosby, How I Met Your Mother

1 Story of Impact

About a month ago, my family made a trip up north, to visit the great state of Michigan. One of the best things about my job is I meet awesome people. One of the bummers is my family rarely gets to meet these wonderful people. Thus, the trip up north. We were so truly blessed by the hospitality, warmth, and genuine love shared with us by our friends. They invited us into their homes, fed us, entertained us, and were so generous to my family. They inspired me to be more generous in my life, to bring life to my relationships, and go above and beyond for my friends in Iowa. And isn’t that just a better way to live life? To Kevin, Deb, Dave, Judy, Steve, Rebecca, and all the others who showed us what friendship looks like… thank you. I definitely feel you have blessed me more than I have blessed you and I want to pass this on to another family. And the ripple goes out, slowly changing our world, one relationship at a time.

As the Founder and CEO of Many Hands, Tim Brand leads a global movement dedicated to the belief that transformation happens when people choose to be Love in Action in a broken world. Over the last decade, he has transitioned Many Hands from a grassroots start-up into a high-impact international non-profit with a $9.0 million annual operating budget. Operating across Haiti and The Bahamas, his strategy moves beyond traditional relief. Tim focuses on building the relational and physical infrastructure required for communities to shift from dependency to dignity. Today, these programs touch over 25,000 lives annually. Tim centers his daily work on professionalizing this passion by ensuring radical financial integrity, developing resilient five-year strategic plans, and fostering the exact partnerships necessary to solve complex problems in volatile environments. Under his guidance in 2026, the organization is actively pursuing the audacious goal of delivering over 5 million meals to communities facing catastrophic hunger. Known as a giver and a doer, Tim believes that God uses imperfect people and strategic discipline to bring shalom to chaos. Whether he is leading an Impact trip on the ground, overseeing a multi-million dollar construction project, or developing the Board of Directors, his ultimate mission remains unchanged: to restore what is broken and prove that no place and no person is a lost cause.
