1 Story of Impact

In my life, I’ve had a number of instances where I’ve trusted someone who didn’t deserve to be trusted. I’m sure there is someone who comes to your mind when I mention an untrustworthy person. In fact, just this week, I’ve had two separate conversations with people in leadership who trusted an individual, only to be let down and hurt. What do you do when someone has hurt you or, worse yet, when you hurt someone else? The easy response is to start rationalizing away the situation. To spin it in your mind or to spin it to others. But spin rarely results in transformation. In fact, it hides or runs away from the reality of the situation. The only way to change outcomes and get on a better path is to own up to reality and take the next best step forward towards the desire outcome. One has to acknowledge where they truly are and sometimes being truthful to oneself is hard. But it is right. It is okay to admit you screwed up. You made a mistake. Grace will come to truly repentant heart. Grace doesn’t come when you are knee-deep in your own spin. In your past, how have you handled being hurt or when you’ve hurt someone else?
