Celebrating the Good

3  Points to Ponder

  1. Don’t let hardship blind you to the good. How can you actively seek out positive stories and experiences to counter negativity?
  2. Celebrate the victories, big and small. Do you have a system or practice for celebrating victories, big or small? How can you integrate this into your routine?
  3. Challenges will always be there, but choosing hope and action over fear can steer you through. How can you use the good things happening around you to fuel your own perseverance and motivation in difficult times?

1 Story of Impact

Darkness can be suffocating, as the unexpected repeatedly has taken blows at my soul over the past six months. Sitting in my sorrow, I asked our leadership in Haiti and Abaco, “What can you share with me to celebrate with our team?” Stories began to pour in – stories not of despair but of hope: New campuses built. Widows being looked after. Pregnant mothers now with access to bloodwork and ultrasounds. New staff hired to expand jewelry-making capabilities. Summer school teaching foreign languages. Livestock purchases to distribute to needy families. Over 300 mothers served daily in the First 1000 Days program. Family reading nights. Food distributions to the sick. Lead Like Jesus trainings for staff with action plans to impact their communities. First-time readers equipped through our adult literacy programs. New believers professing their faith in the Lordship of Christ. I’m overwhelmed with the good happening around me and reminded of why we exist. Evil will hit us. That is a guarantee, not a what-if scenario. But evil is overcome by good. Each of us has an opportunity to celebrate the good happening all around us or wallow in fear of the evil knocking us down. To be People for Impact, always choose love in action. Build into your life ways to systematically celebrate the good you see in God, in others, and in yourself. This is the fuel needed to charge through the darkness to the light waiting for you on the other side.

As the Founder and CEO of Many Hands, Tim Brand leads a global movement dedicated to the belief that transformation happens when people choose to be Love in Action in a broken world. Over the last decade, he has transitioned Many Hands from a grassroots start-up into a high-impact international non-profit with a $9.0 million annual operating budget. Operating across Haiti and The Bahamas, his strategy moves beyond traditional relief. Tim focuses on building the relational and physical infrastructure required for communities to shift from dependency to dignity. Today, these programs touch over 25,000 lives annually. Tim centers his daily work on professionalizing this passion by ensuring radical financial integrity, developing resilient five-year strategic plans, and fostering the exact partnerships necessary to solve complex problems in volatile environments. Under his guidance in 2026, the organization is actively pursuing the audacious goal of delivering over 5 million meals to communities facing catastrophic hunger. Known as a giver and a doer, Tim believes that God uses imperfect people and strategic discipline to bring shalom to chaos. Whether he is leading an Impact trip on the ground, overseeing a multi-million dollar construction project, or developing the Board of Directors, his ultimate mission remains unchanged: to restore what is broken and prove that no place and no person is a lost cause.
